The standard LX trim is remarkably impressive for just a base-level trim. It features a powerful 2.0L I-4 engine, offering 147 horsepower with a standard 6-speed manual transmission. If you don’t like driving stick, however, you still have the option of an automatic transmission at this level.
The 15-inch steel wheels with wheel covers are certainly appealing, but one of the more exciting features is the fact that your outside mirrors are heated as that kind of feature isn’t usually available at the base level. Inside, you get woven-cloth seats with an audio unit that includes AM/FM radio along with an MP3 port and CD player.
Upgrade to the S-level trim and you’ll gain access to a more luxurious and convenient interior. Instead of woven cloth, your seats will be outfitted with black sport cloth. The S trim also includes the advanced UVO3 infotainment system complete with a 7-inch touchscreen interface and rear camera. Your dash and upper-front door panels also get a soft-touch add-on, making your interior that much cozier.
Automatic transmission comes standard here along with the optimized sport-tuned suspension. Front LED positioning lights are also included with the S trim alongside upgraded 16-inch alloy wheels. This is also the first level in which the Forte’s driver assistance features are available.
When you get behind the wheel of the EX trim, you’ll know you’re at the top of the trim levels. Under the hood lies the 2.0L GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) 4-cylinder engine that produces 164 horsepower—a significant boost from before. For added style, your wheels get a nice upgrade to 17 inches.
Inside, you’ll find the same infotainment system except that you now have the option for navigation features and HD Radio™ technology. The seats are leather by default and you can enjoy dual-zone automatic temperature control with rear vents. Several of the driver assistance features available on the S are includes standard on the EX trim such as Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
