Drivers who opt for a bigger set of wheels often like the idea of having an engine with more power. The engines in the Kia and the Toyota are both brawny, but there’s one big difference between them – and that’s power.
In the Toyota Sienna, drivers will find a 2.5L hybrid engine that produces 245 net horsepower across all trims.
While that’s a lot of power and certainly not something to turn away from, you can get even more horsepower in the Kia. It offers a 3.5L V6 engine throughout all trims that produces 290 horsepower. So, if engine power is important to you, you’ll want to take a closer look at the Kia Carnival MPV.

Comfort is at the forefront of any trip, and part of that is being able to stretch out and still be able to carry extra luggage or equipment. In the Toyota Sienna, you’ll have 33.5 cubic feet of cargo room behind the third row and a maximum 101 cubic feet when the second and third rows are folded down. That being said, in the Kia Carnival MPV, you’ll get more cargo room.
You’ll have a minimum 40.2 cubic feet of cargo space and a whopping maximum 145.1 cubic feet in the 2022 Carnival MPV.
The Kia Carnival MPV also offers more headroom and legroom across the board. In the front, drivers and their copilots will enjoy 40.9 inches of headroom and 41.1 inches of legroom. By comparison, front-seat riders in the 2021 Toyota Sienna get 40 inches of headroom and 40.3 inches of legroom.

Going on a long drive or just around the block? Regardless of how far you’re going, your trips can be enhanced with your favorite songs or podcasts.
In both the Kia and the Toyota, you’ll be treated to standard Bluetooth® connections, Apple CarPlay®, and Android Auto™. However, when fully equipped, the Kia Carnival MPV offers a bigger touchscreen at 12.3 inches compared to the 9-inch screen found in the Toyota.
Both sets of wheels offer available top-notch audio systems. In the Toyota, drivers can access a 12-speaker system by JBL®. In the Kia, drivers will be treated to a 12-speaker audio system by BOSE®.
